Republican rebel Evan McMullin gained national recognition after running as an alternative GOP candidate to Donald Trump in the 2016 election. On Thursday, he’s making an appearance in support of one of the candidates for the Sixth Congressional District.

Business owner David Abroms announced on Thursday that McMullin would join a meet and greet event on April 10 in Atlanta.

“Evan is at the forefront of a new generation of conservative leadership, and his dedication to many of the same fundamental principles I hold dear is something I admire,” Abroms said in a statement. “I’m excited to have the chance to talk with Evan about our shared ideals and why those principles are important for the next representative from the 6th District.”

Abroms has long been connected to the former Independent presidential candidate. His top consultant, David Searby, once managed McMullin’s campaign.

McMullin pulled just over 13,000 votes in Georgia on November 8.
